Private Investigator (New Character)

Name: Marko La Rue
Age: 35
Single, not looking

Appearance: He's a six foot tall, slightly overweight private investigator. He is the opposite of Cage. Dark hair, dark eyes, scruffy face with some acne scarring. His hair is a little too long like he needs to go to the barber, but not quite yet. He's not the healthiest cat. Doesn't care to work out or eat healthy. Not morbidly obese, but definitely overweight.

Favorites: Red, pizza (local mom and pop shops only), Bob Dylan but he mostly listens to any singer-songwriter, he likes to read best sellers. He doesn't much care for books from pre-1980.

Habits: Smokes a pack a day - Camel Turkish Lights. Swore off drinking after a drunk driving incident where he paralyzed a child. Plays saxophone, but not jazz only John Phillip Souza.

Background: Good family, parents still alive and amicable. He is an only child. He graduated from high school in the top 1/3 of his class. Went to college for anthropology. The market for "anthropologists" wasn't very hot when he graduated, so he fell into his roommate's uncle's PI agency. 10 years later, he has his own service. Doesn't go to church, not after the drunk driving incident. He does okay with his finances. He never goes for want, but doesn't have a whole lot left over.

Attitude: He feels confident with himself. He's a pretty good PI. Not super Sherlock Holmes or anything, but pretty good. His greatest fear is probably his mother dying. His secret goal in life is to get back into anthropology. His bookshelf is full of the latest scientific journals and publishings in the field. His immediate goal is always to solve the case he's on. He gets paid by the day, but if he solves the case or uncovers vital information, he writes a bonus into his contract with his clients.

Initial Motivations

It all began over at NaNoWriMo with some friends from school. I decided to write a 50000 word novel in one month. No revision, no rewrites, no editing, just pure, unadulterated writing.

That was November. Now it's the middle of June, and I finally have 10399 words. Yikes.

This blog is merely another reminder for myself. A reminder that I should be writing on my novel instead of typing this.

I'll also use it as a springboard for different ideas I have as well as various brainstorms and rants about how I can't think of what I want to have happen next.

You may even see some freewrites for different sections or maybe some character sketches or bits of dialogue that I'm trying to work out.
